Back-to-School - Huh? What? Wait...

The school year hasn't even ended for me yet, and I'm already thinking of next year! I love the lap books that I see on Pinterest and TpT so I decided to take a go at it and create an All About Me Lap Book for the beginning of the school year. Take a peek...

The foldables includes
Favorites - kiddos write 3 of their favorite things
This Summer I... - What did you do this summer?
Classmates - Who's in your class this year? (classmates can autograph this or students can write their classmates names)
Snapshot of My Life - Question on each lens
(My birthday, I live with, I'm really good at, I was born in (city & state))
Facts About Me - Kiddos write down facts about themselves that they would like to share
My Super Power - If you could have one super power, what would it be?

Safety Comes First

I entered my class into a contest that required students to design a new product. They had to do research on why their product would be useful and include any pertinent information about it.

One of my boys "designed" a Football Jersey with "springs" built into the shoulder pads. What a GREAT idea! He did his research on head injuries from playing football and the amount of concussions players receive throughout their professional career. Having these pads that he designed built into the shoulders of the Jersey would cushion the head as it "bounced/snapped" in all different directions while playing the game.

Although he didn't win the contest...I really think he's on to something!

Wild Things

A few years ago my class did an author study on Maurice Sendak. I recently came across the pictures on an old computer and I had to share =)
As a whole, the class voted that their favorite story was "Where the Wild Thing Are." So, as a culminating activity we created monster masks, wrote our very own "The Wild Things of Class 307" book and had a Wild Things celebration.

A close friend of mine bakes and baked some "Wild Things" cupcakes for my kiddos. They were a HUGE success (Thanks Amanda!) They tasted just as good as they look...

Just Another Manic Monday

This is my first time linking up with "Manic Monday". It looks like there is a lot of great, free resources on this site. I'm participating with my FREE Jeopardy 4th Grade Math Edition.
I used this with my class as an end of year review. My Kiddos LOVED it (my principal loved it more!)
I hope you have as much fun with it as we did!
